To play in fullscreen, go to Wine Configuration and uncheck the two items about decorating and controlling windows. Don't change the settings again otherwise it will ruin it all again!
(I suggest using a separate bottle, and making sure to label it just in case.)
If something does go wrong and you get the white screen again, recheck these two options as well as the one for emulating a desktop. You can try again if needed, though it works fine for me as long as I don't mess around with the settings.
