Where the graphical artifacts for this game are a real problem, i found a workaround. Play the game at fullscreen in a virtual desktop.
You can enable a virtual desktop by doing as followed: - Open the CrossOver Games configuration - Go to Manage Bottles and select the bottle where HOMM IV is installed, then click Configure - Go to Control Panel and open winecfg - Go to graphics - Enable 'Emulate a virtual desktop' - Give a size thats smaller than your current resolution, 1024x768 for example
HOMM IV will only support 800x600, 1024x768 and 1280x1024

Edit by Kivanc Muslu: I can confirm that this also works for the mac version. There are glitches if you try to play the fullscreen. However, if you use emulated desktop (Roland gave all the details) it works flawlessly. I use 1024x768 (since the width of macbook pro is less than 1024 pixels). Tested on Mac OsX 10.6.3 with Cross Over Games for Mac 9.0. Works flawless.
