For cxoffice 4.0 there is a problem with a missing dll. Is fixed in 4.2:

Here some explanation for a workaround
# cxoffice misses the library in the windows system: MFC40.DLL
# the error comes through THREED32.OCX but it doesn't
# tell that the problem is the loading of the MFC40.DLL
# Instead launching the setup.exe with wine gives the following
# error:

err:module:import_dll Library MFC40.DLL (which is needed by L"C:
\\\\windows\\\\system\\\\THREED32.OCX") not found
err:module:import_dll Library MFC40.DLL (which is needed by L"C:
\\\\windows\\\\system\\\\WAITEGL.OCX") not found

# therefore simply copy the MFC40.DLL to the system folder of the fake windows
folder, i.e.:

~/.cxoffice/dotwine/fake_windows/Windows/System

# After that the installation with cxsetup works properly and hec-ras also
