Half-Life: Blue Shift Tips

Settings

The title screen looks terrible and (if you set your prelaunch settings to a high resolution like I do with my large monitor) then it loads slowly and fills slowly downwards in grey. This simulated kernel panic so closely for me that I panicked but it was fine- just the terrible graphics... This needs the -dxlevel 81 in the prelaunch (as well as resolution and "windowed" options as well as anything else you can set up in the prelaunch steam window). So far it seems to run fine. Though the graphics engine is showing its age. Use OpenGL as the rendered (the "software" renderer is simply too awful for words). I havent tried D3D but it would PROBABLY work as well.
