When you are having issues with the game running in Steam, try the following

1) See if Input Monitoring is active for Steam. This is in the System
Preferences, and you can find this option in system preferences. Use
the password for logging in when asked, and click the switch for Steam
to make input monitoring active for Steam. This will fix many issues
with limited mouse and keyboard response from the game in Steam.

2) The Steam Bottle. Was the Steam Bottle installed as a Windows 10,
64-bit bottle? Was "Direct X For Modern Games" Installed into that
Bottle? Some issues with the game running may occur if proper
dependency files were not installed into the Steam Bottle during
Installation, Installing "Direct X For Modern Games" helps fill in the
gaps within the Steam Bottle.

3) Video Guide for Installing Steam. This guide was originally tested
for Crossover 22.0, but it has been tested for version 24 following the
update and works just as well. You can check this out for additional
visual aids.
