Avoiding the "The program hl2.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close." Crashes
In Crossover 8.0.0, Half Life 2: Lost Coast has a tendency to crash when played at higher graphics settings. I haven't isolated the worst culprit yet, but I have determined that it is definitely not resolution, and is starting to look like it might be a combination of texture detail, and the filters. If you set all of your settings to low the frequent crashes will stop. You can then start slowly increasing the settings to see what you can run the game on without sacrificing stability.
