The disk contains Mac and WIndows versions of the software, so Mac users should generally install Garmin Training Center directly into OS X. When I installed the Windows version on the disk using CrossOver 10.1.1 ("Impersonator") on an OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) system, I got as far as a dialog indicating that installation had succeeded, and it had, to a degree. However, a user is then supposed to turn on the Garmin device and connect it to the computer so that data can be uploaaded from the device to the computer. Nothing happened when I connected the Forerunner 305, and nothing happened when I tried to start Garmin Training Center in CrossOver.
Directly in OS X (not using a browser running under Impersonator), I went to the Garmin website, and downloaded Garmin Training Center Windows. When I double-clicked the downloaded file, Impersonator recognized it as a Windows file, and installation into a WinXP bottle commenced. I could start the software, as the screen print shows. Again, nothing happened when I plugged the device into a USB port, no data was uploaded from the Forerunner to Garmin Training Center, and my rating remains Known Not to Work.
