Free realms works ok in CX Games (Linux, at least - tested 8.0.0) - but actually getting it to run requires several steps.
1. Download Firefox for Windows (ie. from
http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/3.5/win32/en-US/Firefox%20Setup%203.5.exe) and install it into a fresh bottle. Note the exact case-sensitive name of this bottle, as you will need it later.
2. Download winetricks (
wget winezeug.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/winetricks)
3. Run the following commands (note that these paths will most likely differ on Mac, adjust accordingly):
export WINEPREFIX=~/.cxgames/[NAME OF THE BOTTLE YOU INSTALLED FIREFOX TO]
# Now, if you already have a version of wine installed, you probably don't need to set the WINE var.# Either way, the path may differ if you installed using the .run packages.export WINE=/opt/cxgames/bin/wine# This will install dependencies for freerealmssh winetricks flash d3dx9 vcrun2005 vcrun2005sp1 fontsmooth-rgb4. You can now run the firefox that you installed, point it to http://freerealms.com and install (and play) Free Realms as normal
5. Note that installing firefox in crossover might create a firefox command that can override your proper native version of firefox, so you may want to look if one of ~/bin/firefox ~/.local/bin/firefox are symlinked to the crossover firefox, if it is, just rm it and things will go back to normal (and firefox in cx will still keep working just fine).
