This is for the full version of Agent, which includes the newsreader AND the email program, which I would rather not do without even after switching to Linux. Tested in Ubuntu Feisty Fawn. Under Wine the ability to launch URLs was lost. After installing COO I got that feature back again.
The minimize button does not minimize the application, but you can click on the taskbar at the bottom (or wherever you have it located) and it does minimize, a minor irritation that keeps it from getting a gold rating. All of the features that I use, both for newsgroups and for email, work fine. I do not use some of the advanced newsgroup features and do not download lots of binaries, and I don't receive lots of email with images in them, but one I got from knowledgenews.net displayed the image within Agent without a problem. I plan to install IrfanView to be able to view certain file formats that might come my way, but it looks like for now that Agent works well enough under COO to give it a silver star. And some might give it a gold star. Agent should be working on a new version (5.x) soon, so I will be able to test that but I won't be able to report on it until the official release due to the nondisclosure agreement I have on file with them. But you can be assured that, by the time it is released, I will have had several months of experience with it and know if there are any issues with it under this environment.
