If the game hangs at the splash screen firstly wait a minute as initially various databases are updated. If it still hangs try the following one at a time.
Use the legacy X windows driver (if available) and set a virtual desktop (the graphics tab of wine configuration in the control panels folder) to the resolution of your screen. Any dialogues should then be displayed on screen.
Check that MSXML4.0SP2 and SDK are showing as installed in the bottle (click the 'I' by the bottle name). If not navigate to the 'Installers' folder in FSX and use the 'Run Command' option to run the msxml.msi file. If the game will still not run it will probably require a complete reinstall as the installation order of MSXML4 items is crucial.
Edit the fsx.CFG file in drive_c\users\crossover\Application Data\Microsoft\FSX. The line you need will be similar to that below. Ensure the mode is set to the full resolution for your screen and save the file. If the game runs to the point of displaying the menu screen the graphics settings can be changed using the customise option in display settings.
[DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M.0] - This line will vary depending on your video card.
Mode=1920x1080x32 - edit this line only to your screen resolution.
If the game crashes after updating Crossover to a new version it generally requires a full reinstall! Before doing that It is worth deleting the fsx.cfg file or replacing it with a recent backup (before the Crossover update) as this sometimes allows the game to run. It is stored in C:\Users\Crossover\Application Data\Microsoft\FSX.
