Workaround for adding attachments: None found yet. However, if the FirstClass server in question also has the web interface enabled, you can attach files through that interface just fine.
Just write your message, log in to the web interface, find your message in your Inbox (should be easy enough as the message will be flagged as unsent) and attach the files. Then close the item through the 'Save' button. This will preserve your Rich Text formatting, and you'll have your files attached just fine.
