In my configuration, Finale always chooses the wrong paperformat if I print something. The "3x5 inch index card" is completely useless and generated already a lot of paper overhead.. If I change it to A4 with File->Printer Configuration (not 100% sure about the naming, because I'm using the german version) it just stays as long as Finale runs. After a new start the page format is again wrong.
The only hack I found so far, is to delete paper formats out of the ppd-file of my printer in the folder /etc/cups/ppd. With little trying I could make it that Finale chooses by default A4. It's a very ugly hack I know, so be careful if you do it as you can easily destroy your printer configuration!
