Greetings to every FFXI users! :)

I'm happy to announce that with latest version of cxgames and some little tricks FFXI works!

Before starting, some note:
1) I'm using EU version, I do not know if this work with US and JP version too (I think it should)
2) Playonline have some minor issue, such as inversion of screen sometimes, but it is usable
3) the game itself works, but it is not really fast. I'm still trying to find the best settings.

How I make it work:
First of all install a new (winxp based) bottle on cxgames. Then install this on your new bottle (mine is called playonline )
CrossOver HTML engine
Microsoft XML Parser (MSXML) 3.0
Microsoft DirectX Runtime
Microsoft DirectX Runtime (Download)
Microsoft XML Parser
Core Fonts

using the install software button. After you are done, mount your ffxi cdrom and install unsupported software. Installing ffxi + pol + expansion packs and upgrade them online, even o a fast machine will require several hours, so take your time :)

Now configurations. Start CrossOver Games Setup, then go to manage bottles, select playonline bottle, then click on configure. Now click on control panel and start winecfg. Click on Graphics and choose Emulate a virtual desktop, then set desktop size to 1024x768 (I've tryed many others settings here, I think that all work, but emulate a virtual desktop is mandatory at the moment). Configure your audio card, if u are using some sound manager such as arts or esd I suggest u to disable audio. Click ok and exit from winecfg.

Now start windows games --> playonline --> playonline viewer config and be sure to check the full screen option and no sound option. Start the ffxi config and check the windowed mode. For some reason this is mandatory too, if u will not choose, ffxi will start but it will be in a black screen.

Now you are done. Start pol and hope :) Here it is working quite fast until ffxi character menu will come.
Any suggestion, comment will be appreciated :)))

EDIT: i've found one more little trick. If the games look like very slow (as it was for me), and you cannot write anything just press F11, select your character and press enter, go to chat and select a chat mode (say, tell, linkshell, whatever) and press ok. From now on you will be able to write, and the game will be really faster then before. I will put a video on youtube soon. Screenshots also coming.
