Important for Installing Final Fantasy VII (Any Version) (fixing battle and map crash issues!)
When Installing Final Fantasy VII, or Final Fantasy VIII, there is a possibility that the game may crash for battles, or for leaving Midgar in Final Fantasy VII for the larger world map. There is an easy fix to all of this with newer versions of Crossover including the current version (24) at the time of this Tip being entered.
1) Install the File "Simple DirectMedia Layer Library 1.2.14 (Win32)" This contains all the dependency files that once had to be manually installed before Crossover 22 for various games including Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII. If you are trying to run the Steam version of the Game, Install into the Steam Bottle. If you are trying to run a version other than Steam, where you directly installed the game from a disc or digital download not part of a larger server such as Steam or the EA App, then install directly into the Game Bottle.
