I wonder who wrote the tip above?...what he forgot to mention, was you can get around all the CD swapping business by doing the following;
Create a new directory somewhere, call it something logical like 'farcry_install' or whatever. One by one, copy the contents of each of the 5 CD's (just everthing on CD 1 and the .cab files from the other 4 discs). Now, when installing, use the 'Other installer file' option during installation, and browse to setup.exe copied into the directory above. Installation should proceed normally but a -lot- quicker if you take the time to do this.
Installer may hang on exit: Once installation has completed, you may notice that cxinstallwizard
will just hang and not complete successfully - if this happens to you, enter the following command
in a shell/console ;
killall IDriver.exe
That should successfully complete the installation, and cxinstallwizard will finish things
off as expected....do not start the game yet, as we still have other tasks to perform before
