EverQuest Tips

Run EQ1 in Linux

Im Running this is Ubuntu 9.04 (64bit) with a good video card and latest Nvidia Drivers (v180)

First of all, The Installation went good, nothing wrong happened when installing from Disks.

After the install, I found that you must play this is windowed mode, I could not get it in full screen, but you can just make the window size full screen.
I found the best way to edit this was in the eqclient.ini file directly, as in game options only had limited resolution sizes, plus it tried to span my resolution across both my monitors with twinview.

Find and open the eqclient.ini file within the EverQuest install folder, after that, find and edit these particular lines:

WindowedMode=TRUE
Width=1440
Height=900

Width Width and height will denote the actualy window size. Set this to your monitor resolution to get a sudo full-screen.

The game started normally for me, and I was able to log in. The character creation mode was a little slow and choppy, but the actualy game play was good.
