EverQuest Tips

Getting EverQuest up and running on an Intel Mac

I used a Macbook Pro Core 2 Duo 2.16GHz with an ATI Radeon Mobility X1600 (128MB VRAM) and 2GB RAM running Mac OS X 10.4.11 for this.

1) Install Crossover Games (7.0.0 or later)
2) Create a default (winxp) bottle
3) Either a) Copy your EQ directory to inside the bottle, or b) Install EQ from discs (untested)
4) Copy d3dx9_30.dll from Windows/System32/ in a working Windows XP installation to the corresponding directory inside the bottle
5) In Crossover, go to Programs -> Run Command and choose EverQuest.exe from the EQ directory inside the bottle.
6) Select "Save Command to Programs Menu" and it will be available in the Programs menu from then on.

This is known to work as of April 2008.
