EverQuest II Tips

Tweaking performance in Everquest 2

If your framerate is low, I've found that the settings most likely to make a difference are:
  1. Complex shader distance
  2. Particle effects (in combat) - turn down the "Maximum particle size" or the "Number of particle effects per character"
  3. Number of characters rendered (in crowded zones)
Texture size doesn't seem to be an issue, at least not with a 512 MiB graphics card and 3 GiB memory or more, so you can just as well set it high.
