One of the things not working (at least for me) is updating the application from within Evernote (Help>Check for Updates). It usually just throws an error.
As a workaround, I just download the app from Filehippo (https://filehippo.com/download...) and then run it in the same bottle. It'll update pretty quickly.
Another option is that when you click on the "Check for Updates" it does actually download it into a temp folder within Evernote. If you can find it you can just manually run it from there.
