The EndNote 8 demo displays a nag dialog. In CrossOver, this dialog is obscured by the splash screen, and invisible. This means that the splash screen never goes away, and the application doesn't start.
To get past this, select the EndNote window (generally by using Alt-Tab) and press 'Return' to dismiss the demo dialog.
