This tutorial discusses how to upgrade a pre-existing installation of e-Sword on your Mac. If you don't already have e-Sword installed on your Mac, do not follow these directions as they will not correctly install a fresh copy of e-Sword.
1. Download the installer
To upgrade an existing installation of e-Sword 10 or 10.0.5 on your Mac, first go to the e-Sword website and download the update for the latest version of e-Sword (as of the writing of this article the latest version was v. 10.1):
http://www.e-sword.net/downloads.html2. Launch and setup Crossover's Software Installer
Now, launch Crossover and head to the "Configure>Install Software" menu:
Choose "Other Application" from the list of software (
do not choose "e-Sword")
Now, click on "select an installer", and then "choose installer file":
Browse to and select the "update1010.exe" file that you downloaded in Step 1, and click "Use this installer":
3. Select the pre-existing e-Sword bottle
After choosing the installer file, you'll need to select your pre-existing e-Sword bottle as the destination source, rather than a new bottle. Click on "will install into a new winxp bottle 'update1010.exe'":
and select the pre-existing e-Sword bottle from the list (it will be below the options for "new" bottles):
Click "install" after selecting the bottle.
4. Proceed through the e-Sword install wizard
The e-Sword installation wizard will now appear. Proceed through all of the prompts to install the update.
When the installation is complete, launch e-Sword from your normal launcher. You should now have version 10.1, and all of your pre-existing bibles, modules, commentaries, etc.
