Installing additional modules in e-Sword
Most free modules can be downloaded and installed through the appropriate menu item in the "Download" menu within the e-Sword program, itself.
However, some modules must be purchased separately. These modules must be installed manually.
To manually install a module, first download the module from the appropriate website. The module should be an "exe" file, i.e. "amp.exe" (which is the installer file for the Amplified Bible).
Next, you'll need to make sure that you have
only one e-Sword bottle. To do this, turn on the bottle sidebar in Crossover:
And look to see if you've got more than one e-Sword bottle:
It's fairly common to end up with multiple installs of e-Sword, especially for first-time users of Crossover who aren't familiar with the installation process. If you have multiple e-Sword bottles (i.e. multiple installs), it will be very difficult to tell which is the "right one". If this is the case, you should delete each of e-Sword bottles using the "-" (or "minus") key at the bottom and then perform a fresh install of e-Sword as per the instructions in the first "tip" on this page.
Once you're sure that you've got just one e-Sword bottle:
Launch Crossover and open the Run Command for the e-Sword bottle:
Now click the Browse button and browse to the installer file for the module you've downloaded. It will most likely be in your Downloads folder. Click on your home folder under "places" on the left-hand side of the navigation window, find Downloads, and then find your file:
Click "Open", and then "run". Crossover will now run the installer for your module. When the installation is complete, close the Run Command menu, and launch e-Sword.
