Fix:
Apply this DLL Override:
msvcp140_atomic_wait (native, builtin)
To apply:
1. Open Crossover
2. Select your bottle on the lefthand column (the one steam/dwarf fortress is installed in)
3. Click 'Wine Configuration' under 'Control Panel' on the righthand column
4. Click 'Libraries' tab on the window that opens
5. Click the dropdown under 'New Override for Library' and find msvcp140_atomic_wait and click on it
6. Click 'Ok'
7. Exit Steam / Dwarf Fortress windows if they are open and relaunch
8. You're done.
Disclaimer: I have no idea what other programs are negatively impacted by this change, but if you have other programs installed in the same bottle that start having strange issues I would definitely try reversing it to troubleshoot (you can remove it by going back to the 'Libraries' tab, selecting 'msvcp140_atomic_wait' under 'Existing Overrides' and click 'Remove' )
