For DVDFab Platinum to work, you need to make sure of the following things:
The bottle you are instaling DVDFab in is either Windows XP or Windows 2000. Bottles older then Windows XP or Windows 2000 (Windows 98 or Windows 95 for instance) will cause DVDFab to report that there is no ASPI layer or something similar, available and it then can't find your drives.
After installation go into Config and then the WineCFG program of that bottle. Head over to the drives department and set the page to show advanced settings. There select the CDrom/DVDrom drives you have and make sure they both are set to CDROM instead of Automatically. This will ensure that DVDFab will see your drives as the proper drives and not wonder which to use.
Before starting DVDFab, make sure you have installed Internet Explorer 6! DVDFab will NOT work without it. Reason for this is probably because it uses parts of Internet Explorer to connect to the internet for a version check/update. If you don't have IE installed, DVDFab will start but won't display itself. It just sits there and waits, probably until it finds IE. Install it and you can use it as normal.
