As hinted to by some people on the official Blizzard forums, D3 has some problems using multi-core CPUs. This will result in micro-stutter on Windows but on Linux + Wine it's more clearly visible while the game uses multiple cores. This is fixed by changing the affinity of the process. - can be done
only while the game is loaded. To do this you have to:
1. Open the Bottle Manager
2. Click on the bottle where Diablo 3 is installed
3. Go to the Control Panel tab, select Task Manager and click on Launch item button
4. Now, the task manager is open, go to the Processes tab and select Diablo III.exe. Right-click on it and go to Set affinity
5. If you have a quad core cpu- leave just two or even one core ticked (same for CPUs with more cores). If you have a dual-core, just leave one of them ticked.
6. You can experiment a bit and see which option delivers better performance. This can be checked in-game by pressing Ctrl+R which displays the frames/second. The best place to check was in New Tristram.
