DBDesigner runs just fine in CrossOver, but only if you avoid the DBDesigner installer and instead download the DBDesigner zip file.
Using CrossOver to run the DBDesigner installer (setup.exe) simply doesn't work. Doing so only results in an error message; the application does not get installed in your folder of CrossOver applications. Instead, follow these steps to install DBDesigner for use with CrossOver:
From the downloads page of the DBDesigner website (http://www.fabforce.net/downloads.php), instead of downloading the setup.exe file, download the .zip file (DBDesigner4.0.5.6_Full.zip)
Unzip the .zip file by simply opening it in the Finder, which results in a folder named DBDesigner4.0.5.6_Full
Move the DBDesigner4.0.5.6_Full folder to your CrossOver applications folder (or wherever you prefer)
In the Finder, open the DBDesigner4.0.5.6_Full folder, then open DBDesigner4.exe to run it in CrossOver
