Fix: find the game's file 'config.xml' in the bottle of the game, edit it with a text editor in order to set: fullscreen value="false" instead of: fullscreen value="true"
File found (in my own case, Linux) in: ' /home/yourUserName/.cxoffice/Craft_The_World/drive_c/users/crossover/Application Data/dekovir/crafttheworld'
I had this issue with CO v21 on Kubuntu v20.04, game distribution v1.9 ('Complete collection') from GOG.com. Note: Using a virtual desktop window did not help.
