Modifications such as new skins, models, maps, etc. usually work without a hitch. However if you find that a mod causes a problem (such as random crashing) simply remove mod.
If this does not work try "de-fragging" the program under Steam via the "Properties" button. This will fix any errors in the default downloaded data (not any mods added)
If you are still experiencing crashes try reinstalling the game, updating your version of crossover, or check for driver updates.
