For me, using the default CrossOver dll overrides (at the time of writing), I get stuttering during a lot of different things. Pretty much anytime there is a 2D video with audio. Sound effects aren't affected, but everything else is. It also kills my frame rate.
So here is what I did.
I opened Wine Configuration from the bottle's panel, went to the Libraries tab, and located, from the list, dsound. For me, it was set to "native." Changing this fixed all the issues.
