When you have C&C Gold work, i strongly recommend to install Patch 1.06 R1 (http://nyerguds.arsaneus-design.com/cnc95upd/cc95p106/) this because of more stability and network support and especially because this patch ensures the lagging of the game (because of loading music on the cd) while playing to the minimum (really onnoyed me).
And if you dont bother to miss the movieparts in the game, you can even install Complete No-CD game installation pack (v1.06b r1, with all music included) (99.50 MB) then you dont need the cd, but miss the movie scenes.
