Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars Tips

How to make it run

  • First locate the game directory.  On Linux, this is normally '~/.cxoffice/<bottle_name>/drive_c/Program Files/Electronic Arts/Command & Conquer 3'
  •  The Digital Rights Management (DRM) software in this program
prevents it from running in CrossOver.  If you are in a legal jurisdiction
which allows removal of such software, you may have luck running this
program.  Unfortunately, CodeWeavers, because they are subject to the
Digital Millennium Copyright Act, will be unable to support you.
  • Enter the game's main directory again and extract the contents of this archive into it
  • Also place gdiplus.dll and d3dx9_29.dll there
  • If you did not install the game in a winxp bottle, go to the CrossOver configuration program, select the bottle you installed C&C3 in, go to the control panel tab and run winecfg.  There, add an override for 'cnc3.exe' and set the Windows version to XP.
