If you play the Game (civilization) via Dosbox, change the " machine" settings to "vgaonly" or the game DOENST work, it took me some time to figure that that problem/setting out, because you got a wierd error trying to start the game. The standard setting is SVGA instead of vgaonly, and because Civilization is an old game you have to change that setting.
