If you can't get smartdefense and/or smart update working and get an error about RalyCtrl.ocx not being registered, run this:
wine rundll32 RalyCtrl.ocx,DLLRegisterServer
from within the directory you installed the Smart Clients in. Same thing works if you're running the Provider MDG. That should get the ocx file registered and allow you to use both those features.
