Step 1:
Download BattleForge for free from
http://www.battleforge.com and install it (Create a new bottle named "BattleForge")
Step 2:
Start the Program, a file will be downloaded an a new Launcher appears.
Login, accept the licens agreement. Now you can see, that the
downloader from the launcher is starting the update.
If it fails with the a "5 retries error" go to Step 3.
Step 3:
Download this the Patch-Skript from
Download Filefront: http://files.filefront.com/battleforge+update+scriptargz/;13861341;/fileinfo.html
Download Rapidshare: http://rapidshare.com/files/241436533/battleforge_update_script.tar.gz
or
Download Pastie: http://pastie.org/494143
and copy it into the BattleForge directory and start it (
sh
./script.sh). The script will download the whole client and patches
(about 2.7 GB). If the script finished downloading, start the game.
If the script is aborting, be sure that following packages were installed:
* grep
* gawk
* curl
* wget
* cabextract
Install it with "
sudo apt-get install APPLICATIONNAME" (Ubuntu)
Step 4:
If you will download future patches, you have to run the script again.
Step 5:
Play the game :) It runs very good like a native application under wine.
I tested it with a Nvidia graphic card.
