This works 100% on an NVIDIA GeForce9400 (Most 2009 Macs).
Install the most recent redistribute of DirectX (google directx redist) into a new bottle under windowsxp. Then install the full game (complete) and install DirectX 9.0c that comes with it. I didn't bother installing GameSpy but it doesn't make much difference. Restart the bottle and don't bother with the NVIDIA drivers - Wine uses it's own drivers with our graphics cards and the windows side sees them differently. Don't bother updating the game from DVD and then manually copy over (into User/Library/Application Support/CrossOver [Games]) the YouKnowWhat files that stop the *cough* check...
Then use the "CrossOver Games Applications" folder to find "Play Battlefield 2" and double click it.
Default graphics are horrible on my 22inch MacMini but a simple mess around fixes them. I play in fullscreen and it works 100% as I'd hope it would. (Esc gets past the movie clips). Remember, use your own real serials esp. if you want to play online! (and GameSpy wouldn't hurt either! Just open that and allow the computer to open the correct exe for online playing). For changing the settings you must disconnect form a game. Widescreen don't work (WSGF just stretch their pixels) - don't complain, your Mac will make full screen stretch the game so it fills full screen and it don't look that bad!
Enjoy the awesome game and wait for Bad Company 2 to start working!
