Identification [com port] error: can't open port; in use
This is a fix for OpenSUSE 12.2. It may work for other versions or distributions.
If you are not able to access the COM port to communicate with the Basic Stamp module, you will have to adjust the user privileges. You must add the groups "tty" and "dialout" to the users that will require COM port access for Basic Stamp.
Once the changes are made, be sure to log out and log back in for the user permissions to be re-read.
