Baldur's Gate II will not hardware render correctly if you have an nVidia video card or chipset that is 8000 series or newer. When running the game, you may experience a plain white screen that can only be escaped by terminating CrossOver.
One possible solution is to open up the BGConfig utility, go to the Hardware section and enable 3D acceleration. Then go to Display and make sure that 32-bit color mode is enabled. Finally, go to 2D & 3D Options and make sure that 3D Animations, 3D Acceleration, and 32 Bit Textures are selected. Disable Vertex Padding should not be selected.
An alternate solution that requires drastic lowering of the game's visual quality may succeed if the other one failed. Open the BGConfig utility, navigate to 2D & 3D Options under the Graphics section, and check the three Software...BLT checkboxes. For these settings to apply you must also make sure 2D Color Depth is set to 16 Bit in the Display page.
