No Tip Title!
I would recommend first trying it on a blank cxoffice instance, i.e. create a new kde user, and log in. This should allow you to make any necessary changes without them affecting or being affected by previous settings.
The first thing you need to do is to make sure that IE6 is installed. If you don't have this already, it can be found on the AutoCAD 2004 CD, under BIN/ACADFEUI/SUPPORT/IE6SETUP.EXE. IE6 is supported by cxoffice, so install this through the main setup screen, not as autocad.
Once IE6 is installed, you should then be able to install AutoCAD as follows:
Install unsupported application, then browse for the file:
BIN/ACADFEUI/SETUP.EXE
I am not aware if more recent versions of crossover office than my 2.1.0 allow for the more recent service packs, if so, try installing as windows XP, but it didn't work on mine, so I used win98, which worked.
In the most recent version such as 4.1, you can install IE 6.0, form the installation program of AutoCAD, the is more intuitive. But YOU NEED to RESTART CX to the installation program will recognice the installation of IE 6.0.
If you are successful up to this point then great, continue through the rest of the installation. When I did it, towards the end of the installation, I encountered a DCOM error, which seemed to confuse the installation, if this is the case, the AutoCAD shortcuts will not be available following installation. My next tip details how to fix this
In 4.1, this problem don't occur.
