To install Autocad 2002 on Mac with OSX 10.4.8 I first had to install the version 2000 of Autocad, because it wouldn’t install in a new clean Bottle of any kind.
First, in CrossOver I created a fresh Windows 2000 Bottle and installed the 2000 version of Autocad. The installation finishes with success, after a couple of system errors that are not critical. Then Autocad 2000 runs nicely on Mac.
The next step is to install Internet Explorer 6.0 with a standard install option in CrossOver. This is a requirement for the further installation of Autocad 2002.
When done, install Autocad 2002 with the option of Unsupported Program installation. Important: choose to install its VoloView viewer, even you are not planning to use it. If that wasn’t done, the installation quits with an error. Once you successfully finish the full installation you will be able to use Autocad 2002 on Mac OSX.
Still there are several limitations to Autocad 2002, some of them are quite disappointing.
