Audiosurf Tips

Fixing poor audio quality

Audio quality in a game like Audiosurf is vital. You may experience "metallic" noise or distorted sound. If you do, try changing "hardware acceleration" for audio to "emulation":
Open up winecfg, go to the audio tab. On the bottom it says "Hardware acceleration" and there is a pulldown menu next to it. Make sure "Emulation" is selected there (as opposed to "full"). Click Ok when done-

(To start winecfg, at least using cxgames Linux: Open Crossover setup (aka. "manage bottles") -> select the bottle (ie. Steam) -> select the "Control Panel" tab, click on "Wine configuration" and then click "Launch selected item")
