Oftentimes your mouse will not be coordinated with the game's pointer. To coordinate them, you have to move your mouse to a corner that both your mouse and the pointer can access. Once both your mouse and the pointer have reached the exact corner pixel, then your mouse will be coordinated from then on. Fullscreen mode is recommended in case your mouse goes off the window and messes up the coordination.
