The issue: Music and other sound effects make a crackling sound sometimes.
The fix: Select your sound device via Winecfg, click on "apply" and then TEST different sound channels to find one gives you the best possible result. Make sure you click on "apply" before you test it. In my case, I get optimum results using: "Out: HDA ATI SB - ALC887-VD Analog"
