The following settings may increase game performance for those running on low/mid-end intel linux spec machines, especially eee pc netbooks:

Run winecfg from 'Run Applications' in the CrossOver menu for your AOM bottle and in graphics use windowed mode for 640x480

After setting this, go to 'Run Applications' again, select your AOM bottle and browse the AOM.exe file. Create a shortcut once you found the exe path.

Once your shortcut icon has been placed on your desktop, edit its properties and add the following to the end of the shortcut path:

+noIntroCinematics bpp=16 +window +lowend +terrainHalfDensity +lowPoly -waterbump skipMipMapLevels=1 graphicDetail=2

This has been reported to work well with Linux EEE PC 900 models.
