Constant Reinstallation of Visual C++ Runtimes When Launching Game
The Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime 2010 and Visual C++ Runtime 2012 installers may be run (and fail) each time you launch the game from Steam, causing a delay of up to a few minutes before you can play.
If this happens afterthe first time you successfully launch the game, you can prevent it by removing or renaming the _CommonRedist in your Age of Empires II HD installation. This does not appear to affect the operation of the game.
On a fresh CrossOver Linux installation with a bottle name of Steam, the directory is at the following location: ~/.cxoffice/Steam/drive_c/Program Files/Steam/SteamApps/common/Age2HD/_CommonRedist
