Adobe Lightroom 2 Tips

Installation caveats

To get this version of Lightroom to install, you have to make sure some of the things it depends on are there. I made a bottle in cxoffice named Lightroom and used winetricks to include some of the dependencies. I did this by  running commands similar to...

env WINEPREFIX="~/.cxoffice/Lightroom" sh ~/winetricks msxml6 gdiplus gecko vcrun2005sp1 ie6 colorprofile fontsmooth-rgb atmlib allfonts tahoma fixfonts winxp

Then you can run the installation executable using CXOffice's install tool.

After the installation goes well, when I tried to run it using CXOffice, it didn't work, so I used wine 1.1.41 to run it (downloaded from wine's PPA) it seems to run well, although the menu is all black, so you can't really read the menu, but it is still there and functional.
