Greetings all!
This is a cute little game that you basically run a little remote control car around a track against the computer or friends. There are a few things you need to know about the game (this was done on OSX 10.5.6, I'm sure the setup will be at least similar on Linux. The virtual desktop setting may or may not be needed due to differences between Linux and OSX):
Installing
You can not use the "install from CD" method of installing unsupported software. It will attempt to run the autorun.exe which seems to do nothing. This is an easy fix - just do the unsupported software install, and select that you want to choose the installer file. Navigate to the CD (it will mount two sessions of the CD by default, the audio portion and the data portion, make sure you navigate to the data portion) and run Setup.exe
Once you run setup.exe, it will go through its process and should complete without errors.
Important note: My default bottle that I duplicate for new installs has DirectX installed. You will probably need to make sure you install DX in the bottle you plan to use with this game.
Bottle winecfg Settings
By default, the configs on a given bottle is no virtual desktop which allows an app to run full screen. This setting will not work correctly for 3D racers (you end up with a black screen and unable to do anything) - make sure to toggle Virtual Desktop in the graphics tab, and set it to whatever rez you want. The max resolution of the game is 1024x768.
Once you have done the install and used winecfg to set the virtual desktop the game should work without issue.
Play Notes
You will need to have the CD in, or use an image of the CD mounted and showing up in your drive list in winecfg. The CD does not appear to have copy protection, but rather is mounted for extra videos (game was from back when large hard drives were not as abundant and cheap as they are now)
