Serious Problems with the new wrapper 2.0.x and Public Test

Hi,
my appreciation for your work on WOWS and the latest updated client.

But I'm running in big problems with the new set up and file system with the recent Public Test 0.63 of WOWS.
Can't run the official version that was in a separate folder with its own client 2.0.4 and after deleting the files, all of them, of the Public Test the installer quits after creating the WOWS folder, without downloading any content.

Before with the client 1.0.12 was quite simple:
Once installed the latest official version, you could easily install the Public Test version also, by editing a couple of files inside the duplicated app client: wows.sh with a different name for the folder World_of_Warships (like World_of_Warships_PT062) and by changing the server in the launcher file WoWSLauncher.cfg with the Public Test servers.
In this way I could play either the official and normal game or the Public Test one. Never had any problem at all. Once the PT was over, just deleted its folder under Documents. Et voillà!

Instead when this week started the latest PT it was a mess. Couldn't find a solution for it with the new client 2.0.
So I went back to the old one 1.0.12 edited as usual the two files and it worked fine, but... but I didn't check the normal app this days because I was busy on the PT.
So an hour ago I decided to play with the official but its own client started the Public Test instead of the normal one.
And after trying to re install the official without success, I removed the files of the PT, but it started downloading the Public Test instead of the latest one.

As at the beginning of this post, now if I start whatever WOWS apps it just quits after showing for a fraction of a sec. (Couldn't take a screenshot) a grey window.

So now I can't play none of the two. And I'd like to know what should I look for to delete and clean up the situation and restart with a fresh download.
The other thing is, how to have to different version of WOWS running with the new client 2.0? As it was before with 1.0.12?

Thank you very much!
Red

UPDATE:
After various tries, I was able to install WOWS ONLY with the new Client version 2.0.4
No chance to install the good, old 1.0.12.

That brings the question: How to install at the same time, the official latest version of WOWS ( 0.6.2.2 now as I did last night) and the Public Test one (just ended 0.6.3) ?

Because now all the data resides in the Bottle of wine... hope is red, by the way... and it looks the WOWS filesystem is a kind of tricky: a symlink into the Documents, a .sh file that adress the new and the old folder World of...

So the problem is how to have the 2 wrappers, official and PTest in the Application folder, and the 2 separate WOWS folders with data and all the stuff? As it was before with the old client wrapper 1.0.12.

Let us know, Thank you!

So, here the last UPDATE:

  • After a long, very long, series of try while discussing it with Codeweavers Support, they finally told me that if we want to install both in different folders, we must ask for it to Wargaming.
That's because is Wargaming that payed for the Mac client and the latest update 2.x that broke the simple possibility to install both that there was with the old 1.0.12 client.

The solution I think needs some work with the wrapper to make a different "bottle" where to install the PT client.
They told me that they actually have the two working together, but it's up to Wargaming to ask them for it or not. They are not allowed to reveal the trick or to post a PT client.

Amen.

So if you need it, ask for in Wargaming forums or to Support, whatever server you play in, especially the NA one that seem more sensitive to Macs... Good luck...
