Low framerate

Hi!
I have B.C. with patch 2.10 working in Crossover Linux 6 on Kubuntu 6.10, gf 8800 gts, but the framerate I'm getting in Outlands is only good for soloing with everything set on low.
Seems the problem is not with Crossover Linux, but with Blizzards OpenGL, cause I get the same (bad) framerate when running WoW in opengl-mode i WinXP.

Are you planning on getting D3D emulated to work with WoW, or any other changes?

Because as is, I don't see Crossover as an option to run BC; the performance hit is to great, and I would really like to get rid of dual booting.

I have the newest nvidia proprietary drivers installed, and no issues with opengl otherwise.

Best Wishes

Tore

Yes we have a goal to get WoW running in D3D mode in 6.1.

I was having the same problem with low fps but it seemed when I had BC installed before I could set the video setting to 16bit and the framerate when up considerably, compared to having it set 24 bit which made my framerate decrease considerably. Im talking at 24 bit video setting the framerate was at 10-15 fps and with 16 bit I could sometimes hit 60 fps. Im not sure if it helps but it's worth a try.

Updating here: 6.1 will still default to OpenGL. D3D mode works better than it has in the past, but we find that OpenGL has better performance, so we are going to leave it as the default.

How to get it to change to D3D? Do you just need to change the settings in the config.wtf file? (I am running it from the copied folder from windows)

Do you know how to change the color depth on ATi cards (proprietary driver)? When I set it in my wowxorg.conf (special xorg.conf for wow to avoid the enter world crash) and start a new x server the driver says:
(EE) fglrx(0): Given depth (16) is not supported by fglrx driver

When I try to set it in my config.wtf and NOT in my wowxorg.conf the game always resets it 24 bits.
