Steam version could work great, except...

Except that it's impossible to enter a player name or email address/pass (for Multiplayer registration). I'm experiencing a strange issue where trying to enter a player name for the campaign does not work: even with the name box selected (the cursor displays there), it does not register any keys entered. Same goes for Massgate multiplayer registration.

However, going into the option menu and remapping keys works just fine--it registers key presses and changes the keymap appropriately. So it's not as if the game lacks focus, or can't recognize the keyboard. What else might cause this issue?

Hi,

Please always remember to mention which platform/OS{version}
and videocard you have. In linux, I see something similar with
some steamapps when running fullscreen, in that you have to alt-tab
away from the game viewport, and then alt-tab back into the game
before keyboard input is recognized.

Cheers!

Whoops! I'm on OSX 10.6.5 and have the Nvidia GeForce 9400M (256mb). I am running it fullscreen, which could be part of the issue. I tried running it via an emulated desktop at the same resolution, but that made no difference. I attempted to command-tab to another window and back, but attempts to do that didn't work either.

Can the Steam community overlay cause this issue? Should I disable it? I think I may also try running the game in Windowed mode and see if it makes a difference.

Edit: I resolved the issue. For some reason, the "Allow window manager to control the window" option was unchecked. Checking this, and keeping the game fullscreen, managed to correct the issue. It's always the little things, isn't it? ;D
