Game will not work when patched to 1.010-1.011

Hello,

my first post here...

I could get the game to run (multiplayer only) without any registry tweaking after the original DVD install and an installation of DirectX - Modern on my MacBook Pro 2.4 Ghz C2D with NVidia GeForce 8600 GT, 256 MB VRAM, 4 GB RAM. My version of CrossOver Games is 9.2.0.

Now, this version of the game uses SecuROM DRM, so it will not see my original DVD in the drive. DRM is disabled when the game is patched to 1.010.

I manually updated (the game's internal updater breaks it too) to 1.010 and 1.011. Now, the intro screen looks strange:

If I continue, it locks up on a black screen.

I have the following registry keys under the Direct3D key of Current User>Software>Wine.

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wine\Direct3D]
"DirectDrawRender"="opengl"
"OffscreenRenderingMode"="backbuffer"
"RenderTargetLockMode"="readdraw"
"UseGLSL"="disabled"
"VideoMemorySize"="256"

I have also applied the solutions mentioned in the other threads here. Therefore, I have the downloaded dxdiagn.dll and two overrides (dxdiagn and d3d10. I also tried to run on a virtual desktop.

I am out of ideas. Can anyone help?

Here's a log with the +d3d option.

Thank you all for the work you've already done here.

Bryan

Those registry settings may no longer be applicable. You can try disabling them. A technique I use to disable settings without losing them is to edit their names and insert a character, like 'X', so they no longer match. For example, change "OffscreenRenderingMode" to "XOffscreenRenderingMode". That way it's easy to restore them, if you need to.
